Pena Family Foundation Scholarship

The Scholarship was established by the Pena Family Foundation with the purpose:
To advance education by providing publicly available scholarships, bursaries, and other forms of financial assistance to students meeting the criteria determined by the directors of the Pena Family Foundation, from time to time, to be used by the recipients/students in furtherance of their post-secondary education;
​Scholarships are currently granted to those attending post-secondary education in qualified universities, colleges, and vocational institutions in Canada, with preference for those in the ELL and Transitional Programs of the Vancouver School Board.

The Pena Family Foundation has been supporting education and leadership programs for the youth since 2014. The foundation is duly registered under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, as a charitable organization, registration #842927741.
Grants
A selection committee will assess the individual applicants based upon the following: ​
application form and financial aid questionnaire
academic performance in the secondary school level
leadership qualities
involvement in community activities, especially activities related to the integration and leadership development of those in the ELL and Transitional Programs of the Vancouver School Board
financial need​
The selection committee has three members.
